my uncle passed away as well

My father called me today and told me that my mother didnt want to tell me right away because of how hard she new I would take it. My uncle which was my grandmother's son passed away 5 hours after my grandmother passed away. They told him that my grandmother had passed away and he sat down on his chair and wanted to be left alone. Five hours later he passed away. He died of natural causes but I think he died of a broken heart. My grandmother and him were very close. My uncle was in the first stages of Alzheimer's disease. He was forgetting where he was and certain names for things. He still remembered people though. This is so much for my family to take. My grandmother's sister is in very bad shape and my Aunt is devastated. I cant imagine losing a brother and a mother on the same day. My mother is taking it ok. I know my mom is the one who gets stuff done in the family. They are all Christians and I know that they both are in heaven together in the presence of our Lord.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your uncle; again, it is comforting to know that he is in heaven with his beloved mother

I am so sorry that you lost your uncle. I am glad that they were Christians. The man I sang for at the funeral had Alzheimer's and I think he just gave up when they put him in a nursing home. My mother's cousin committed suicide, his elderly mother had a stroke when she found out. They buried her son and a week later they buried her, and a day later my grandmother. They were sisters and neither one of them knew the other one was in the hospital. :( Will be keeping all of you in my prayers. Hugs, Janie

Be strong dear child!  God's timing is always perfect, even if we can't understand it.

God bless-
Amanda

Hello! I am areader of Lucy's jornal and I have seen your comments there. We have all been dealing with circumstances of dealing with lost loved ones. I dont have much family so I dont have a lot of experience with grief. when I read entries like yours it reaffirms my faith in the power of love. It also reminds me of how little we know or understand of life. I am glad that i found your  journal. Thank you for sharing. we all have so much to learn from one another. It is brave of you to share with us and we certainly can find wisdom and strength from reading what others go trough.  june

Christine I am so sorry to hear of so much loss in your family..  It seems that it does go that way.  There is only one thing I can tell you that may comfort you a little.  You would not want to see your uncle go through full blown alzhiemers.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I justm have not been feeling well lately and can barely get mu journal out.   Lucille
