just another day

Today I took the kids to the park for a picnic. My oldest son just sat away from all of us during the whole thing. Nothing has really changed. My nerves are very bad but I am trying to keep them in check.

Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

Psalm 25:4-5 N LT

I ran accross this bible verse while doing some reading. It was very uplifting to me. I am trying to have faith.

Here is a joke someone sent me. I thought it was cute so I decided to share it. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I spent the evening getting caught up with journals. I am almost finished. I will finish the rest later. It took my mind off of things for awhile. I love reading journals and making new online friends.

TWO ROBINS

Two robins were sitting in a tree. "I'm really hungry," said the first one. "Let's fly down and find some lunch.

"
They flew down to the ground and found a nice plot of newly plowed ground that was full of worms. They ate and ate and ate till they could eat no more. "I am so full, I don't think I can fly back up into the tree," said the first one.

"Let's just lay back here and bask in the warm sun," said the second.

"OK," said the first. So they plopped down, basking in the sun.

No sooner than they had fallen asleep, when a big fat tomcat sneaks up and gobbles them up. As the cat sat washing his face after his meal, he thought...

"I JUST LOVE BASKIN ROBINS."

Love the Bible verse. Joke is too cute! Has a catchy end to it. lol Sorry about your son; they do go through some stange stages when growing up... teenagers! Keeping you in prayer and that was still good to go to the park.  I wish I had got myself up and around and gone to the zoo!!  Lazy me!! lol Hugs and prayers, Janie

wow, you cannot let your son treat you guys like that.  He is disrespecting you by not sitting with you guys.  I know, thats hard to hear.  Tell him you expect him to be part of the family!  If something is wrong, he needs to tell you, but otherwise you need to EXPECT he will be part of the family and communicate with you all.  Its seems like you are afraid of him, or afraid he will run away or something?  do not be afraid, you are the mom!  You cannot be Mighty Mom if you are afraid of your child.  Take a stand and expect him to do right.  Kids will do what they are expected to do, give him some expectations.

I know, I yap too much.

Teens are difficult at times. I can remember one of our sons doing the same thing. Setting boundaries, letting our kids know what is expected of them starts when they are little. Once they get older it is more difficult. Respect is earned, not a given. Don't give up. Pray, set rules, be consistant about keeping them. You can do it. Hugs, and prayers too.
